The role
As a Quality Assurance Technician at IPL you will:
1 Inspect and release incoming raw materials. May perform visual inspection and/or physical properties testing, evaluate results, record information and report on the materials to determine product release approval status.
2 Perform first article inspections, in‐process and final inspections using inspection and testing equipment.
3 Communicate product quality problems. Troubleshoot product quality problems in coordination with other departments.
4 Perform all job functions in accordance with company procedures and work instructions.
5 Complete quality documentation and records data into logs and databases.
6 Handle and disposition non-conforming products and materials detected within the facility in accordance with company procedures and work instructions.
7 Participate in an internal audit team and supplier development audits. Initiates preventive and corrective actions when necessary.
8 Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
9 Sets up and perform tests on materials or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
10 When required, applies statistical process control to monitor and control a process. Enters data into computer databases for analysis and/or preparation of data charts and graphs.
11 Represent the quality assurance department in daily operations meetings
12 Train production personnel on new/revised product quality standards.
13 When required, conduct Quality Systems and/or Product assessments at sub-contractor and/or Supplier site(s).
14 Keep own and adjacent work area clean.
15 Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Supervisor or Manager.
What you will bring to the role:
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school or equivalent; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in quality inspection and/or manufacturing desired.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: ASQ Certified Quality Technician is preferred.
