The role
We are seeking an EHS Specialist to support and enhance our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs at our Fairfield, CA location. In this role, you will help ensure regulatory compliance, promote a safe and healthy workplace, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. You will partner with employees and leadership to drive safety awareness, training, risk reduction, and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain EHS programs to support compliance and workplace safety.
Deliver engaging employee training on safety procedures, emergency response, PPE, hazardous materials handling, and environmental practices.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments, recommending corrective actions as needed.
Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
Maintain EHS documentation and records to support audits and certifications, including BRC, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements.
Monitor employee training requirements and coordinate refresher training programs.
Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure proper chemical labeling, storage, and disposal practices.
Assist with emergency preparedness programs, drills, toolbox talks, and employee safety communications.
Track and support EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Attend production, safety, and cross-functional meetings to support site EHS objectives.
Manage inventory and distribution of PPE and other safety-related supplies.
Stay current with EHS regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
What You'll Bring
Minimum 2 years of experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety role, preferably within a manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
Working knowledge of EHS regulations, compliance requirements, and safety management systems.
Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, investigations, and risk assessments.
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to train and engage employees at all levels.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
Pursuing or holding relevant EHS certifications (e.g., OSHA experience or NEBOSH General Certificate) is a plus.
