The role
Production Team Leader Nights
Location: Shelbyville, KY
As a Production Team Leader at IPLS, you will:
Oversee production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
Responsible for meeting shift production goals.
The Production Team Lead will serve as a backup to the Production Supervisor, Floaters, or any other production role in their absence.
Maintain knowledge of product quality plans; assemble, check for flaws, blemishes, discoloration, burn marks, warping, and stacking, and package product.
Emboss product when required; ensure a quality embossing stamp. Must be able to set up the embossing machine.
Perform inspection and part dimensional measurements of each part to quality plan requirements.
Notify supervisor of any suspect quality issues.
Required to assist with production work during break and lunch periods.
Transport product into inventory in a safe manner; [using a forklift machine]
Lead routine operator preventive maintenance on molds and machines, mold changeovers, and mold lubrication.
Maintain a safe workplace and ensure that safety policies are followed.
Responsible for quality control.
Make adjustments as necessary during the shift to produce the product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications.
Start up and troubleshoot machines, and maintain molds, materials, and auxiliary equipment, ensuring machines operate within specified parameters.
Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring to the role:
Leadership Requirements:
Train and coach production line employees.
Responsible for employee shift schedule to include workstation assignments/rotations, training, vacations, breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absences, and shift rotations.
Lead in the clean-up of manufacturing areas.
Ensures that direct report(s) are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the department responsibilities and goals can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
Communicates regularly with all direct report(s), both individually and as a team (if applicable), to ensure good two-way communication concerning progress and other issues.
Complies with the Company’s Human Resources policies and procedures and promotes the awareness of and compliance with these policies.
