Mold Technician - Day Shift (6a-6pm)

The role
Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Schedule: Two-week rotating 12-hour schedule
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mold Technician to support our production operations. In this role, you will be responsible for mold changes, material handling, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring efficient production line performance. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, safety, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Material Management
Ensure all materials are properly labeled and legible
Verify materials are stored and covered correctly
Replace damaged or torn covers on material containers
Color Changeovers
Inspect Maguire blending equipment for proper operation
Identify and report material leaks for repair
Ensure proper line clearance following material/color changes
Mold Changeovers
Confirm molds have completed preventative maintenance prior to installation
Inspect molds and verify correct inserts are in place
Clean machine platens before installation
Verify all related components (clamps, rods, air/hydraulic lines) are in good condition
Production Support
Respond to machine alarms and troubleshoot production issues
Assist with startup and shutdown of production lines
Provide support to packaging operations as needed
General Maintenance & Support
Assist with automation repairs and changeovers
Perform IML (In-Mold Labeling) changeovers and system updates
Complete required documentation accurately and on time
Maintain a clean, safe work environment
Perform minor hydraulic repairs and address oil leaks
Support basic equipment handling and maintenance tasks
Develop a foundational understanding of quality processes
Food Safety & Compliance
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and SQF/Food Safety standards
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
Ability to work independently and make quick, sound decisions
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Positive attitude with a team-oriented mindset
Above-average math and reasoning abilities
Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience as a Mold Technician or in a manufacturing environment is a plus
Familiarity with tools and equipment used in mold maintenance
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
Frequent standing, walking, and climbing on production equipment
Ability to work at heights using lifts
Frequent use of hand tools and manual force
Manual dexterity to inspect, install, and repair equipment
