The role
We are seeking an experienced Production Team Lead on night shift to oversee daily operations within our injection molding production area. In this role, you will ensure that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and with exceptional quality. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in plastics manufacturing, proven leadership skills, and a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving, team development, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production team members.
Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining product quality and minimizing downtime.
Monitor machine performance and partner with Maintenance to address issues promptly.
Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to support skill growth and productivity.
Enforce safety protocols, workplace standards, and company policies.
Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to optimize workflow and resolve production challenges.
Maintain accurate production records and prepare reports for management.
Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing or engineering preferred.
3–5 years of experience in injection molding, including 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
Strong working knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, and materials.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and quality control systems.
Experience with ERP or production tracking systems is a plus.
Knowledge of mold changeovers, machine parameter optimization, and cycle time reduction.
Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Experience with molding and auxiliary equipment (dryers, chillers, robots) preferred.
Solid understanding of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing environments.
