The role
A vacancy has arisen for a Process Technician to join the team at our Rotherham site (S61).
This is an integral role at the site with responsibility for ensuring that the injection moulding equipment on site is running correctly, meeting production efficiency targets and maintaining the required quality standards.
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) working to a 3 week rotating pattern:
Days – 6.00am to 2.00pm
Nights – 10.00pm to 6.00am
Afters – 2.00pm to 10.00pm
Key responsibilities include:
· Install and start up moulds in accordance with SOPs and safe practices
· Complete colour, tool and plate changes working to SMED principles
· Ensure 'first off' products are produced to the required specification and ensure quality checks have been completed before clearing for production
· Investigate, diagnose and solve problems relating to the moulding process where performance is below the required level
· Liaise with other departments to ensure problems are resolved quickly
· Work alongside stakeholders other departments to ensure that skills and transferred across the Operations function to increase machine availability and drive improvements
· Support training and development of junior colleagues and production operators, ensuring knowledge transfer on equipment and basic maintenance
· Ensure clear shift handovers by effectively communicating key updates and actions
· Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, whereby you may carry out tasks outside of your core scope of day to day responsibility (e.g. CI projects, new product introductions, machine moves etc.)
About You
You will have:
· Ideally achieved an ONC qualification in an engineering discipline, following a time-served recognised apprenticeship.
· Injection Moulding qualification equivalent to IMT3 or above, with knowledge of large format moulding operations (Desirable)
· Sound application of IT systems and Microsoft packages.
· The ability to work as part of a team or on your own initiative in a fast-paced, prioritising your workload in a challenging environment.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to be comfortable interacting at all levels of the organisation.
