Maintenance Lead (Print Department)

The role

We are seeking a highly technical, detail-oriented Maintenance Lead to take full ownership of our Kase printing equipment. This role is unique: We're looking for a "Master Technician" who possesses the desire and aptitude to eventually transition into the Printing Department Manager.

Location: Leominster MA, Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm (potential for overtime)

As a Maintenance Lead at IPL you will:

  • Technical Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance on Kase printers (including mandrels, UV curing systems, and ink stations).

  • Quality Control: Calibrate color settings and plate registration to ensure zero-defect output.

  • Inventory Management: Manage all printing consumables (inks, blankets, plates) and critical spare parts.

  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the printing process and implement solutions to decrease changeover time.

  • Team Training (Phase 2): Train operators on best practices for machine care and troubleshooting.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Mechanical Expertise: Proven experience with high-speed offset or dry-offset printing machinery (Kase experience preferred).

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues under production pressure.

  • Leadership Ambition: A strong desire to move into a management role, involving scheduling, budgeting, and personnel management.

  • Communication: Ability to translate technical issues into clear reports for senior management.

  • Bilingual: English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

  • Willingness to travel: Possible opportunity for travel for training or to assist other plants with machine maintenance.
